Visit to UCL Institute of Ophthalmology / Moorfields Eye Hospital

Sophie CAUJOLLE and Felix FLEISCHHAUER July 2016 Sophie and Felix were invited to visit one of our associate partners, Institute of Ophthalmology, UCL, for discussions on several OCT projects on Friday the 15th of July 2016. Together with our supervisor Prof. Dr. Adrian Podoleanu did we meet with Prof. Dr. Ted Garway-Heath and one of his PhD Read more about Visit to UCL Institute of Ophthalmology / Moorfields Eye Hospital[…]

All students have swapped study places

Magalie BONDU, Sophie CAUJOLLE, Catherine CHIN, Felix FLEISCHHAUER and Michael MARIA July 2016 Today all UBAPHODESA students have swapped their study places from one partner (NKT Photonics or University of Kent) to the other. As all of us stay half of our PhD time at each partner, this means all of us have completed at least half Read more about All students have swapped study places[…]

Polarisation sensitive OCT

Catherine Chin Polarisation sensitive optical coherence tomography (PS-OCT) is a functional extension to intensity based light imaging system by utilising additional information carried by polarised light to provide enhance contrast. In traditional imaging, when only backscattered intensity is collected and analysed, information related to depth and layered structure are neglected. In a typical microscopy system, Read more about Polarisation sensitive OCT[…]

French Engineers in Denmark Meeting

Magalie BONDU and Michael MARIA Copenhagen, French Ambassy (DK) 25th of May 2016 We went visiting the new Metro construction in Copenhagen and get introduced to the project. We met Sandra Akmansoys CEO of ARUP Denmark which is in charge of the project. We had interesting talks with other french engineers based in Denmark.

Spectroscopic visible light optical coherence tomography

In this project the possibility of using a supercontinuum in the visible wavelength range for spectroscopic analysis in combination with imaging, so called spectroscopic optical coherence tomography is investigated. Spectroscopic optical coherence tomography combines imaging of optical coherence tomography with localized absorption, which is used as functional information. These functional information are asked for from Read more about Spectroscopic visible light optical coherence tomography[…]
